19 Ways You Can Pay Less In Taxes This Year
It’s that time of year again – time to file your taxes. But, instead of dragging
your feet and dreading you taxes, this year, how about you take advantage of your
traveling nurse position, and pay less in taxes.
Here are 19 deductions you may not be taking:
- Nursing licenses – all states and certifications
- CE’s and workshops
- Cell phone bill
- Internet service
- Uniforms, clothes, shoes and work supplies
- Donations
- Computer and printer supplies
- Office supplies like pens, pencils, papers and folders
- Car registration
- Medical, dental and prescription bills
- Self-pay medical and dental insurance premiums
- Rental care fees
- Hotel stays during contracts
- Parking fees at airports or other vehicle storage bills
- Mileage to and from airports for contracts as well daily mileage to and from work
- Airline tickets purchased for travel or other business
- Faxes and postage that is related to travel contracts
- Daily per diem – the total number of days that you are away from home on a contract
- Meals
As you know, if you use any other deductions, make sure you keep the receipts in
the event of an audit. It’s strongly recommended you use an accountant that’s familiar
with doing tax returns for travel nurses. Not all accountants are, so be sure to
ask!
By keeping track of your expenditures while on a contact, you can decrease your
total tax liability. As with any tax, legal or financial advice, always consult
a professional before making any decisions that will affect your personal financial
health.

saying about TG Healthcare?

"I was a first time traveler and I chose TG Healthcare. Everything was as they
said it would be. I can’t wait to see where TG takes me next!"
